BO Architect

Be proficient in writing SQL queries, Query performance tuning at least 5 years
Experienced in Database modeling and design using major RDBMS Systems (Oracle, SQL server, DB2 and Teradata) at least 4/5 years
Experienced/Awareness of working with Data warehousing and ETL tools (Ab Initio, Informatica or Data Integrator) at least 2 year or more
Experienced in working with web technologies (HTML, XML), application server environments (ASP, JSP, Java or Dotnet) and web servers (IIS, web logic, web sphere or Apache) 1 year
Have working knowledge of other Business intelligence tools ( E.g. Decision support, LAP, Multi dimensional database technology or analytical applications)
Adequate knowledge of windows operating systems
Have sound knowledge of SDLC.
Have worked in large teams, along with some capabilities to lead small groups and teams.
Be able to provide thought leadership and influence peers regarding the same.

It would also be desirable to have exposure to other Business Intelligence tools such as SAS, etc.
Job Description:
The primary responsibility of the person (BO Architect) will be to conduct universe development from various data sources using Business Objects.

It is mandatory to have hands on experience creating Universe Design, Universe structure, associated classes/objects, resolve loops and context, effective use of list of values, Resolve SQL traps using functions with objects, create and use hierarchies, Design aggregate awareness, Use Derived tables and indexes, Linking universes, Secure, test and manage Universes.
Awareness of Report Development would also help in places where the person needs to help Report development teams.

Alongside, the person also needs to
Perform analysis, design, develop, testing and implementation of Business intelligence solutions using Business Objects XI R2
Assist in defining project scope or phase of a project
Define technical and business specifications
Assume ownership in technical capacity by adding value to the project to deliver the assigned task/project
Ability to plan, engage and manage meetings with internal customers towards the accomplishment of key project initiatives
Participate in the entire development life cycle to ensure the projects are properly set up, make sure the correct delivery process is used and the deliverables are accurate
Analyze business needs, defect trends, and coordinate recommendations with development team.
Work with application and project team professionals in establishing priorities as they relate to business objectives.
Integrate thorough knowledge of key business processes to communicate and translate complex needs to technical solutions.
Analyze and develop solutions to complex problems. Confer with end users, presentation layer team, data base administrative team, data architect team and project management team to determine business problems, assesses impact, and determines timely resolutions or escalations.
Provide creative source of ideas/solutions to address problems to enhance individual and team knowledge of Business Intelligence projects.

Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related field of study along with 8 years in job offered or master’s degree plus 5-6 years of experience. The person should have 5 years in Data Warehousing and at least 3-4 years of working with Business Objects.

Demonstrated experience in implementing Business Objects products (Version 6 thru XI R2) at least 5 years in the following tools
Designer
Supervisor or CMS
Web Intelligence
Application Foundation or Enterprise performance management product suite
Crystal Reports
Desktop Intelligence

Experience: 8 to 12 years
